DELIVERY DRIVER (PT)
Areté Renovators is a 21-year-old family business specializing in interior residential and commercial remodeling, primarily design and build. We have built strong partnerships with building management allowing us to specialize in high-rise condo remodeling and become a preferred partner for property management companies throughout Chicago.
Areté means “quality” in Ancient Greek. Since 2002, we have built a reputation of quality and workmanship, customer service, project management, and reliability. Brothers, Igor and Davor, started Areté in 2002 along with their father, Jovo, who is a master carpenter. Their hope was that their father could market his skills in carpentry and custom millwork and work fewer hours to make ends meet for their family. Igor and Davor left their careers in finance in the mid-2000s to join Areté full-time and grow the business and team.
Together with Areté The Art of Design, our premier showroom and design center, Areté Renovators provides general contracting and design services for bathrooms and kitchens, condos and single-family homes, as well as commercial storefronts and high-rise amenity spaces. We manage all aspects of the project from conception, permitting and approvals, through design, construction, and warranty.
This position will operate as an independent contractor (1099).
Responsibilities:
- Accept calendar appointments from logistics coordinator that detail location of pick-up and deliveries
- Properly schedule time based on calendar appointments (ex: use best judgement to consolidate your route for greatest time efficiency)
- Maintain binder of material lists for every client to be on hand in company vehicle
- Pick-up material from suppliers and delivery to proper jobsite or showroom for storage
- Knowledge of material required (tile, Schluter, cabinetry, trim, etc)
- Collect packing slips and other paperwork from supplier for proper logging
- Inspect all boxes being picked up for visible damage or issues
- Abide by Arete delivery policy – material pick up matches packing slip/PO, proof of delivery, white glove or curbside delivery, etc.
Showroom:
- Clean back patio area and front of showroom when needed (leaves, trash, snow removal, etc.)
- Basement and garage organization – inventory of materials stored in the basement and garage must be regularly organized and re-arranged as needed
Trash removal:
- Removal of trash from jobsite
Requirements/Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Excellent time management skills
- Attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing 75lbs
Successful completion of a background screening required. Candidate must have a valid Driver License and clean driving record. Position requires extensive travel throughout Chicago (downtown, North Shore, and immediate suburbs). This position will work directly with our Transportation Director and utilize the company delivery vehicle.
